Mainly because it is the academic term used in the papers. I could add that eurypterids are often called sea scorpions to the lead. Ichthyovenator (talk) 11:58, 18 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
In the future, you may choose to wikilink things like "basal" or "type genus" instead of "Asia" User:Dunkleosteus77 |push to talk 02:15, 18 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Instead of saying "lanceolate" could you say "lance-like" or some such descriptor User:Dunkleosteus77 |push to talk 02:15, 18 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
I added an explanation of the term, it is used so frequently in eurypterid papers that it might be best to use it here? Ichthyovenator (talk) 11:58, 18 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Who're Clifton J. Sarle, Erik N. Kjellesvig-Waering, Leif Størmer, and Nestor Novojilov? User:Dunkleosteus77 |push to talk 02:15, 18 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
I have added their nationalities and occupations. Also linked Leif Størmer. Ichthyovenator (talk) 11:58, 18 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, looking at it that part of the sentence feels unnecessary, removed. Ichthyovenator (talk) 11:58, 18 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Odd. Should the image be removed? I'm not sure we have any good images to replace it in that case. Ichthyovenator (talk) 11:58, 18 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
It looks like it's saying it's a derivative of something called File:SilurianGlobal.jpg which got deleted (I assume for copyright violations), so I'd say it probably shouldn't be on Commons User:Dunkleosteus77 |push to talk 01:54, 19 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
I've removed the image from the article and will go about removing it from other articles where it is also used (Eurypterus, Eurypterina, Adelophthalmus). I do not know how to remove it from commons but I assume there is some process for that? Ichthyovenator (talk) 12:50, 19 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
