June 2008 edit

There is a tag at the top stating about how the article doesn't cite any references or sources. However:

  • I added a source, but how many are required to get rid of the message?
  • There are 2 tag templates on the page which essentially say the same thing. Shouldn't one be removed?

Took care of it - replace old templates with a new one. Still needs more citations. Cgingold (talk) 09:54, 26 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Remote Control for Laptops ("Presenter") edit

What's the device called in proper English? It's some kind of wireless mouse (most certainly using Bluetooth), used for switching between slides of a presentation, often with a built-in red laser pointer. In Germany these are informally called "Presenters". -- 80.136.99.113 (talk) 13:39, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merger of Radio personality edit

I propose that the very small, unsourced page Radio personality should be merged and redirected here. Although that phrase has a few hundred incoming links, an unknown number of those are piped as "presenter" anyway (e.g. 3rd para of this section). – Fayenatic London 20:22, 13 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Oppose This article ("Presenter") is just as poorly sourced: a single source to verify that "MC" stands for "master of ceremonies", a subject with its own separate article. This article, particularly the lead, is also too broad and too UK-centric to serve as a worldwide umbrella term for all types of hosts (museum and university exhibitors have little in common with Howard Stern). "Presenter" is rarely (if ever) used in American English to identify broadcasters; "personality" is by far the preferred term. Note that basic Google search yields 4.5 million results for "radio personality", only 1.7 mil for "radio presenter". Similarly, Google news search for "radio personality" yields 9,600+ results (nearly all American), while search for "radio presenter" yields some 1,400+ results. If anything, all broadcast/media content should be placed in a separate article, and given its relative lack of an online presence, such an article should *not* have the word "presenter" in the title. Proposed merger from Television presenter edit

The article Television presenter seems to be a fork. In ictu oculi (talk) 05:59, 17 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

The interwikis all point here, not there. In ictu oculi (talk) 06:01, 17 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Incoming links edit

Wikilinks to disambiguation pages are normally errors. 35% of all such broken links in Wikipedia now point to Presenter. Any help with fixing the mis-directed links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Certes (talk) 21:02, 12 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

I'm wondering where I can find the discussion mentioned here in the conversion of Presenter to a disambiguation page. I don't dispute the idea that this should be a dab, but I'm also not sure what the discussion entailed. Dekimasuよ! 21:12, 13 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

The discussion was at WP:Articles for deletion/Presenter, though it might have been linked more widely. Certes (talk) 22:20, 13 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
