I am not completely sure that this article is accurate. Although it says they're fictional and thickening of the glands, it is common among other ethnies, for example, in my case, Brazilian. About 20% or more Brazilians have visible preputial glands around the fallus, and there are even some surgeries available that can make them less visible. I believe they're not as common in places such as the United States, but understanding is required, since people might think it is an STD or other sort of disease. - Claudio 04:48, 17 August 2010 (UTC-3) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.115.131.29 (talk)

Merged content from Tyson's gland edit

It appears that Tyson's glands are synonymous with preputial glands, so I've merged the content from the new stub Tyson's gland into this article preputial gland. The two articles conflicted about the function of the glands, and my lit search also finds scant but conflicting evidence about whether they are truly functional in human smegma production. I'll consult some Derm textbooks tomorrow. Meanwhile, I've reflected this conflict in the merged article. If anyone finds more conclusive evidence, please set it aright. - Draeco (talk) 04:12, 30 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
