Orphaned references in Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "nationalfinal":

  • From Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017: Jiandani, Sanjay (5 December 2016). "Portugal: Three shows for Festival da Canção 2017; final on 5 March". ESCToday. Retrieved 6 December 2016.
  • From Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015: Jiandani, Sanjay (17 January 2015). "Portugal: RTP opts for national selection- NF in March". ESCToday. Retrieved 19 January 2015.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 20:14, 28 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Selection in 2003 and 2004 edit

"except between 2003 and 2005 where the broadcaster used internal selections and the talent competition Operação triunfo to select their entry".

I'm a bit confused. According to the Festival de Cancao article, the national selection was held in both 2003 and 2004, and the winners of both selections were the respective Portuguese ESC entries from these years. Aejsing (talk) 22:26, 16 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

The Festival da Canção article is wrong and should be corrected, as there was no proper Festival those years. In 2003, Rita Guerra was internally selected and given three songs for the public to decide which one to send to Riga. In 2004, the three finalists of the 2nd edition of the talent show "Operação Triunfo" were given each one song to be voted by the public; Sofia and "Foi Magia" ended up winning.
