I have removed the following sentences:

that makes it one of the most painful insect bites known; it scores a +4.0 on the Schmidt Sting Pain Index. An intravenous dose as small as a single microgram can cause debilitating pain comparable to a bullet wound.

In the abstracts and and the newest article http://content.febsjournal.org/cgi/reprint/271/11/2127.pdf they just say it is a paralyzing / neurotoxic agent acting at sodium channels. They do not state that it is the compound responsible for the pain. Cacycle 21:53, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
