Life-cycle edit

The description and full understanding of the lif-cycle of the Florideophyceae is complex. The development of the gonimocarp, supporting cell, the auxiliary cell sterile filaments along with the correct definition of the pericarp, cystocarp, carpogonium, gonimocarp and carpogonium needs careful thought.Perhasps the article needs further stude. Should it be enlarged?Osborne 14:04, 8 May 2007 (UTC) Does this need to be "Wikified"? and if so how? Osborne 15:49, 8 May 2007 (UTC) Have given it further study and altered it somewhat. Definitions and a glossary are required: Carpospore, Carposporophyte, etc etc...How & where is this to be done? Osborne 14:11, 20 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Polysiphonia edit

"carpospoangial" - I can't link this to "carpospore" as one ends with "angial" and the other "re". Carposporoangial - will not link! Will be grateful.Osborne 21:28, 6 February 2017 (UTC)

What you're looking for is a so-called "piped" link: [[carpospore|carpospoangial]] will link to "carpospore" but will be displayed as "carpospoangial": carpospoangial. See Help:Link for more information on links. Huon (talk) 21:34, 6 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Polysiphonia edit

"Filamentous"? no, each branch is composed of a central axis surrounded by elongated cells. Osborne 21:44, 20 November 2017 (UTC) I have now changed/corrected this.Osborne 19:56, 21 November 2017 (UTC)
