Talk:Poloxamer 407

According to http://whqlibdoc.who.int/inn/INN_1976_list16.pdf, page 10, the naming convention is 'poloxamer XXY' where XX is the molecular mass of PO units divided by 100, and Y/10 is the mass fraction of EO units. On this basis poloxamer407 is more like (EO)105-(PO)68-(EO)105, rather than the 101-56-101 currently stated without supporting citation. However, this calculation gives a total molecular mass somewhat over the value supplied by Sigma and BASF (~13500 Da vs ~12600 Da), leaving open the possibility that the original author had special insight. Can anyone offer a definitive citation? 121.223.216.166 (talk) 01:31, 25 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

it's used in listerine! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.227.58.117 (talk) 20:44, 18 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
