Pejorative use of "politics" and "political" edit

"Political" is redirected to "Politics" so I am thinking that, as a general rule, it would be appropriate to have disambiguation material connected with "political" on this disambiguation page. (If not, where?) However, that doesn't necessarily argue that this particular usage of "politics" and "political" belongs here. Where would you put an explanation to the reader that, say, "It's all just politics" is a pejorative, not reflective of the non-pejorative uses of "politics" described at Politics. Possibly answering my own question: perhaps it is just part of the Politics article, and not on this disambiguation page at all. @LaterthanyouthinkQuantling (talk | contribs) 15:52, 2 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi Quantling. Yes, that is a valid point... but only if there is a need for it, to explain more than one use of the adjective. Would then need to add a redirect from Political (disambiguation) to this page, and also add "political" to the intro, and add any other entries that may possibly be confused with this form. However I don't think there are any I can think of off the top of my head. Terms such as political science or political parties are distinct entities that have their own article. Possibly if there were a film or album or novel called Political, it might be added here...?
I hadn't heard of the meaning you had added, for "woke", so went looking for it in the politics article and could not see it there either. I think that per WP:NOTDICT, it's not necessary to explain every use of a word in common parlance, and that phrase probably means different things in different contexts... But go for it if you can find a way to describe and cite it in the article. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 01:52, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the reminder of WP:NOTDICT. I don't see a continuing reason to make my edit to this disambiguation page. —Quantling (talk | contribs) 13:51, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
