Point Comfort is home to (at least) one quite large chemical plant, Formosa Plastics (ca 1800 employees, see: http://www.fpcusa.com/company/operations/point_comfort_tx.html ), which -according to NPR- is home for a massive hydrogen (!!) power plant (check http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=110997398 - click "power Plants", select "other" and look for the large dot in Point Comfort.
