This topic seems to represent very much a minority view. The presentation here suggests that it is a currently active tectonic mechanism. But what little information I can find suggests that it is proposed only for the early stages of earth formation.

At the very least, this "only early stages" aspect should be made clear at the start of the article. Additionally, if it really is considered a topic of currently active tectonics, then this needs to be very well reliably sourced.

I will make sure it is expanded. There are already 2 references to the mechanism. Surely it is not the current view on driving forces but for a long period many researchers have done considerable work on it. It therefore needs a dedicated space in Wikipedia.
