File:Play-sept07.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion edit

An image used in this article, File:Play-sept07.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion for the following reason: Wikipedia files with no non-free use rationale as of 3 December 2011

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review

  • Oppose. Why? ☺ NoeticaTea? 00:56, 8 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Support more natural in American English. 70.49.124.225 (talk) 06:46, 8 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. Even the Chicago Manual of Style is advocating dropping the dots from 'US'. Makes even less sense to use it since it's a dab title – more dots to type. --Ohconfucius ¡digame! 16:32, 8 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. U.S. with periods is the dominant form in the United States. This is consistent with WP:ENGVAR. --Jiang (talk) 21:50, 8 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose per my comments at Talk:Wheel of Fortune (U.S. game show)#Move? Jenks24 (talk) 02:10, 9 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
    • Comment The Wheel of Fortune article uses fullstops, and the proposal to remove them from that article failed. 70.24.251.208 (talk) 04:45, 12 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
      • Yes, as you will see if you read my comments there I think we should not change from one to the other – just stick to what we currently use a la ENGVAR. Jenks24 (talk) 04:06, 14 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
