International availability

The sources listed for 'Europe', whatever that is, say it was released in the UK (Britain, a sovereign country like the United States) for 25 Pounds. As a sovereign country, those from MexiCanada might want to be accurate when they put information on an encyclopedia entry. Britain is not Europe, just as the USA is not North America. Standard Web-cam compatibility

Does anybody know if this device can be used as a regular PC web-cam? For example can you use this on a Linux box for video-conferencing with skype? --Salimfadhley 10:52, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

I think I remember reading somewhere that it's not plug-and-play: that drivers for the PS Eye are not available anywhere yet. I could be wrong, though. Dancter 16:50, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Alot more compatible games.

Although the Plasyation Eye doesnt let people see you doesnt mean that you cant use it. Take Resistance: Fall of Man for one. Warhawk is another. Can you please add those two in the compatable games section of this article. Thank you 70.90.174.173 (talk) 03:36, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Unconventional Usage as a DIY Infra-Red Head Tracker Device

So I noticed, there's no mention of this irregular usage to substitute as a poor man's DIY TrackIR. Apparently the Ps3 Eye is chosen as a DIY IR camera for head tracking because it is rather cheap, easy to modify and has a high framerate and decent resolution. Generally this is mentioned as the recommended device on some flight simulator/combat game forums. Generally components are 3 LEDs, a stiff frame that can be made with something as stupid as 2 pencils cut to make a Y-shape glued to a headset, the PS3 camera, a screw driver, a floppy disk (the disk acting as a visible light filter), 3 infra-red LEDs, a power source and some cables.ZdrytchX (talk) 21:25, 3 November 2019 (UTC)
