Fair use rationale for Image:Pipe Dream 1955.jpg edit

Image:Pipe Dream 1955.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The rationale was supplied in 2007.TCO (talk) 01:09, 15 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
You're arguing with a bot, TCO ...--Wehwalt (talk) 02:42, 15 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
I thought about deleting the bot comment, but then I would get repermabanned for messing with the talk page of someone (more important than I).  ;-) TCO (talk) 02:47, 15 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Muppets edit

Is the bit about a movie version with the Muppets vandalism? My apologies if it is not, but without a reference citation it makes me wonder....PurpleChez (talk) 23:44, 9 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

It is not vandalism. The lede paragraphs need not be cited, as they reflect the rest of the article. If you look down the article, I believe under "Productions", you will see it with cite.--Wehwalt (talk) 23:49, 9 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Cannery row image edit

FWIW

Cannery Row in Monterey

I know. I looked at the Cannery Row images. Cannery Row today one of those tourist shopping streets that Doc and Hazel would have been quickly escorted off of. And if the Flophouse Boys wanted to stay overnight they would have to pay $200 for a hotel room. I have an image of the back of the lab, showing concrete tanks where specimens were stored, I could add that.--Wehwalt (talk) 12:48, 18 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Trust your judgment. Just came across it looking for something else. If you've seen and passed, that's fine.TCO (talk) 16:04, 18 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
I just don't think images of a 2011 tourist trap help readers understand a 1955 musical.--Wehwalt (talk) 16:07, 18 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Agreed. TCO (talk) 16:23, 18 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Mention Cannery Row film? edit

Since Cannery Row (film) is based on both the Steinbeck novels Cannery Row and Sweet Thursday, shouldn't there be some mention of it here? At least as a See also? Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:25, 9 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

See also ok--Wehwalt (talk) 10:43, 9 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Casting of Barbara Redzisz Hammerstein a.k.a Basia edit

I have read in Basia's book 'Cinderella after the Ball' that she was originally cast as Suzy in the musical property 'Sweet Thursday' before in was acquired by Rodgers & Hammerstein and became 'Pipe Dream' she was turned down for the role by Rodgers when it became know to him that she was to marry Oscar Hammerstein's son James, for the reason that he didn't want any members of Hammerstein's family cast in their shows. The Rodgers and Hammerstein musical partnership is my evocation especially their lesser known shows and I think this should be added to the site. However I have tried to do this, unfortunately this was rejected 1. because I am told I put it in the wrong section which in thinking about it yes was my fault, but 2. the book was self published apparently by Barbara Hammerstein herself the Peppertree press which I did not know. I think this is a very interesting part of the history of the musical and should be able to be included and let Barbara Hammerstein who I believe is still living at her great age and should have a voice. I have never read this anywhere else incidentally. Thanking you. Leilaanitavalerielesley (talk) 13:32, 21 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you do it properly as part of the history, attribute it properly "According to xx in her autobiography, she was originally ..." and include a page number[s] in the citation, I see no objection to adding it. Wehwalt (talk) 13:57, 21 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you I will try again. Leilaanitavalerielesley (talk) 15:59, 21 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
