Wrong coordinates edit

The coordinates in the infobox are for somewhere in Pickens County. Maybe there are two Pigeon Mountains? I'm not sure how to find the right info. - 75.117.58.163 (talk) 23:03, 12 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Overall, the article has good structure and excellent references. A few notes that should be addressed:

where exactly on the mountain did the 1863 battle take place?
the elevation is stated as "around 2330 feet". Why an estimate rather than an exact number?
in the 1930s when the water tabled was lowered, what caused this to happen (natural or man-made)?

Volcano edit

It is likely that Pigeon Mountain is not a dormant volcano. This article on the USGS website is classified as a “Non-Volcano Eruptions,” probably indicating that the incident, probably an earthquake, was misidentified as an erupting volcano. In this geological map of Georgia, Pigeon Mountain is mostly made up of sedimentary rocks such as limestone or shale, not igneous rocks. For comparison, notice on this map of Wyoming that all the rock around Yellowstone is igneous. Thomson200 (talk) 03:55, 9 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
