When was this party established...? edit

TH:WP page for this party mentioned a different history for this party; it said it was established on 21 September 2007 and was only controlled by Thaksinites on 21 September 2008. I wonder if one can find proof for this.--Samuel di Curtisi di Salvadori 01:20, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Transcription of party name edit

The transcription of the party name 'Pheu Thai' seems completely wrong to me. As is noted in the RTGS transcription, the last sound of the first word is -a, and this has been dropped completely from the name. My guess is that English speaking people will pronounce the name of the party in its current form approximately like: 'poo tie'. A better transcription would be that of the RTGS: 'phua thai'. While it doesn't really give a perfect rendering of the Thai pronounciation, it is at least closer. 124.27.130.180 (talk) 01:23, 3 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

What are you talking about? You can't just change the official name of the party because you can't say it properly. Druryfire (talk) 10:07, 3 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
What are you talking about? The official name of the party is surely พรรคเพื่อไทย. The transcription that is being used is nowhere cited as an 'official transcription' of that name, in fact no source is given for it. Just because various media choose to transcribe the name that way doesn't make it 'the official name of the party. And when it also bears very little resemblance to the actual Thai pronounciation of 'เพื่อไทย', I don't see why it should be used. 124.27.130.180 (talk) 13:17, 3 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
The name Pheu Thai is used in every english reading media outlet I've ever come across. Thai media even use this name. To suddenly change the name on here would make readers wonder what the hell is going on, who is who, which party is that. They're so many parties in Thailand that you could easily get confused with the slight name changing of articles. If you wish to change the name of this poltical party, then I suggest you do the same for the rest. Druryfire (talk) 13:27, 3 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Economic liberalism edit

"Economic liberalism" is cited to theaseanpost.com , however, I would still question that. Everything that is written in this wiki article, as well as about its' predecessor parties, as well as members of Shinawatra family, as well as everything we know about them, contradicts "economic liberalism". There are many sources about that as well. --95.24.62.181 (talk) 14:22, 14 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
