Production codes edit

Obviously there are no production codes for a series like this, however, whenever I removed the parameters from the Episode list templates, the column still appears, even though on the template page it states it is optional. Any ideas? AntiGravityMaster (talk) 18:09, 25 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

YouTube video sources edit

Although YouTube videos are generally considered unreliable sources, The Game Theorists, at the very least, are a large enough and independent enough channel to be considered a secondary source. Just stating this to clarify.

"Garalina" should redirect here edit

Garalina, the fictional company supposedly behind Petscop, has often been confused as an actual company. I believe redirecting Garalina to Petscop would heavily avoid said confusion. IanTEB (talk) 12:37, 29 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

@IanTEB: Done, see Garalina. Psiĥedelisto (talkcontribs) please always ping! 19:17, 13 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

"Paul is not heard from again" edit

While literally true that we do not hear Paul's voice again after Petscop 22, that's a bit misleading isn't it? For all the audience knows, Paul could still be uploading the videos himself as frequently went entire videos without saying anything. At best, I think this hints at a theory that isn't necessarily proven (that Paul dies/vanishes). Delukiel (talk) 10:18, 7 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

It's made clear early on that Paul isn't the one uploading the videos to the channel, or even that the videos are happening "real time" as in one of the early videos they say "We had to redact a number of things" so clearly it's not Paul uploading to the channel. 65.158.208.78 (talk) 17:37, 1 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
I think I wrote that immediately after I had finished Petscop, so it hadn't sunk in yet. You're correct.
That doesn't address my principal issue, that the line "Paul is never heard from again" implies Paul is dead or otherwise missing, whereas, for all we know, he could just not be saying anything in the recordings. However, it looks like someone edited it to reflect my complaint, and I'm happy with what it says now. Delukiel (talk) 12:56, 11 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

"In-universe logo" image is misleading edit

The "in-universe logo" currently displayed on this page is not from the original series at all. It is a fanmade logo from the Petscop subreddit.

It seems misleading to display fan content as though it originates from the original videos. If an image is necessary, then a screenshot of the title screen shown in the actual series may fulfill a similar purpose. 2601:601:D27E:8170:B5FB:B4D0:1206:AB2A (talk) 20:18, 14 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

I think it serves well enough as a transparent stand-in, but I've added a line to reflect that it's a fan recreation of the in-universe logo. Delukiel (talk) 15:39, 11 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Alternate reality game edit

I've seen several edits adding or removing alternate reality game from the genre list on this page.

According to the page for alternate reality games,

An alternate reality game (ARG) is an interactive networked narrative that uses the real world as a platform and employs transmedia storytelling to deliver a story that may be altered by players' ideas or actions.

Petscop was not networked across multiple sources, it did not use the real world, did not use transmedia storytelling, and most importantly, its story was not altered by the audience in any way whatsoever. Petscop was portrayed only using the videos uploaded to the original YouTube channel, nothing else.

With this in mind, it seems incredibly obvious that Petscop does not fall under this category at all, and we should not incorrectly state that it does. JamesGS8 (talk) 23:31, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
