Death

Damn shame he died; until five minutes ago I assumed he was still alive. I have fond memories of the Terran Trade Authority books, and old Harry Harrison book covers. Still, this article states that he died "of a heart attack in Skegness while working on mural paintings for Butlins", whereas the article's only source says that he died in a pub, with no mention of Skegness. These two facts aren't contradictory, but there's no source on the internet whatsoever to support his death in Skegness. I note that the only external link, an "unofficial homepage", is essentially a reprint of this forum post, which seems to be the only piece of writing on the internet about Elson. The rest of that site's biography is a copy of the Wikipedia article. I'm not sure if Wikipedia can source articles from websites that source their information from Wikipedia's article, it's a bit inbred. -Ashley Pomeroy 21:49, 28 April 2007 (UTC) (and -Ashley Pomeroy 00:44, 3 September 2007 (UTC))

Since writing that someone has put in a link to this wonderful website which clears that up, and has a photo of the mural itself. Poor chap. Along with Chris Foss etc he has probably had more real and direct influence on popular culture than all of the Turner prize winners since the beginning of time. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 15:44, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
