Merge with Airport article edit

shouldnt this be merged with the Perth Airport article? 27.33.234.172 (talk) 17:27, 26 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Good question - no, as it's about the land, not the airport itself, which has a history all its own with its previous name of Newburn. Orderinchaos 04:25, 27 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Perth Airport, Western AustraliaPerth Airport (suburb)WP:ASTONISH, the Australian airport is at Perth Airport and the airport its self is also in Western Australia (the Scottish one is at Perth Airport, Scotland). See also Talk:Corfe Castle (village)#Requested move 12 April 2014, Talk:Windermere, Cumbria (town)#Requested move 16 January 2016 and Talk:Finsbury Park (area)#Requested move 5 September 2018. Either "Perth Airport, Western Australia" should redirect to the Australian airport or to Perth Airport (disambiguation) but its WP:ASTONISHING that "Perth Airport" and "Perth Airport, Western Australia" have different targets. Target is consistent with Joondalup (suburb). Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:47, 11 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • I would also point out the suburb only has a population of 28 which is tiny considering its not even an independent settlement. Views [[1]] also show that the actual airport gets many more views and this is probably getting incorrect views. This was originally a redirect to the airport its self and the discussion about merging (above) was probably due to the fact that it was thought that this was a duplicate article. I suppose that we could redirect Perth Airport, Western Australia to the airport its self but given incoming links and the fact that in Australia its somewhat the case that the state is considered part of settlement's names the DAB might be best. • Support the move to include the parenthetical suburb, as proposed. No strong opinion on the current title, but lean towards redirecting to the disambiguation page rather than the primary topic.--Yaksar (let's chat) 00:19, 15 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
