I would suggest that this page is spilt between the discussion of what personal numbering is (as a telecoms application) and how it was implemented in the UK. I've seen a number of these applications and the functionality ranges from a simple sequential call list to a web-based 'diary' of different numbers for different days and times. There are also functions like 'intelligent last found number' which allow the application to remember the last number you answered and route the next call there first (before falling back to sequential calling). There are also implementation of this application that use parallel dialling (aka call-blasting) when all numbers are called at once - useful for emergency hot-lines and other such services.

Some missing follow me features:

• Do not disturb - either reject all ingress calls or send to voicemail
• Temporary number override - override the number list with a single temporary number
• White and black list filtering of calls - filter ingress calls based on the calling party number
• PIN access - request a PIN before performing the follow-me search (sometimes only used to override a 'do not disturb' setting for high importance callers

There should also be some reasoning as to why follow me is no longer popular. I would state that the advent of mobile phones has made this type of service largely redundant.

Before I dive in an edit the article, I would appreciate any feedback on the above.

I have a London number - 020-8020 3xxx which forwards calls to my home number. I can log into a website and change the direction of the call so if I stay at friends for the weekend, I just log in and point to that new number. If I am out a lot in a day, I can point the call to my mobile and I pay for the extra. This the same as the 0700-xxx numbers mentioned above but come as part of a £10 a month service I use. My callers pay for a normal 02xxx call. This is a lot better for people than the high cost of personal numbers.
