Need original writer or anyone who's familiar with this subject to elaborate edit

I'm now editing my translation (traditional Chinese). I still had hard time understanding the meaning of "as well as the Qarmatians who entertained Persianate notions of cyclical time even though they did not invoke the Iranian genealogies in which these precepts had converged" Thanks for your kind attention.ThomasYehYeh (talk) 11:48, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I believe it may have something to do with the Seljuqs, but since that last part of the sentence is unreferenced and Qarmatians are not mentioned within the article(which violates WP:LEAD), I would not bother adding that part to your translation. --Kansas Bear (talk) 16:08, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yes - I suspect "converged" should be "emerged". Johnbod (talk) 16:27, 7 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for making my translation a bit easier. Further questions: "Persian miniature from the Shahnameh of Shah Tahmasp: Rustam asleep, while his horse Rakhsh slays a lion, fol. 118r." 1. Is the horse fending off the lion, or slaying the lion? and 2. What do [fol. 118r] stand for?ThomasYehYeh (talk) 02:22, 8 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Not sure - the British Museum says "fights". Folio (effectively page/sheet) 118 recto. Johnbod (talk) 03:19, 8 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'm not trying to be picky, but if there's anyone who's familiar especially with this part of the Shahnameh, can shed light on the outcome of the story, I'll be very much obliged. Thanks to you all for sharing with me the knowledge and thoughts about this article.ThomasYehYeh (talk) 03:41, 8 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
