human ppar-delta activation edit

where can i get ppar-delta activating medicaments? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.61.15.154 (talk) 12:50, 31 March 2007 (UTC).Reply

What would you like to achieve with that? JFW | T@lk 21:23, 27 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Muraglitazar edit

We should perhaps quote Steven Nissen's destruction of muraglitazar as an antidiabetic. Obviously, we still know too little about PPAR to predict firmly what modulation will do to bone and coronary artery. JFW | T@lk 21:23, 27 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

PPAR/plant sterols/and natural alternatives? edit

I have a couple of questions I hope someone here can help me answer. First, seeing as plant sterols can also reduce cholesterol and I beleive, increase the HDL, does it have any impact on PPAR's? Also, are there any known natural or herbal alternatives that also activate PPAR? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Interestedperson (talkcontribs) 05:07, 4 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Banned? edit

This was dropped on the article:

This sounds almost like rumour, and a bit more logical explanation would be useful. What might the beneficial effects be of PPAR ligand use? JFW | T@lk 22:35, 24 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

The effect is mediated specifically by PPARδ and activation of PPARδ increases running endurance (see for example PMID 15328533). Boghog (talk) 22:49, 24 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

It does not appear that this article reads like an encyclopedia article. It is typical of wikipedia articles in the field of biology and chemistry as it is only understandable by someone with the equivalent of a degree in biology or biochem. It is full of jargon and does not discuss the system level impact or effects of the material in the article in a way that a layman can understand. Rather, it reads more like an excerpt from an advanced text or paper from the field.
