Performance fabrics edit

(the following co0nversation was copied from My own and Rajiv Sharma's Talk pages. I have posted it here so that I can parse the whole conversation, and other concerned editors can comment. -Roxy, the dog. barcus 07:26, 13 August 2018 (UTC))Reply

I'm a little bit worried that your latest addition (the table) is not supported by sources, and more importantly that the subject itself is unencyclopeadic.

What is the difference between a so-called "performance Fabric" and a fabric?

I don't want you to spend lots of time and effort on this, and then have me come along and remove your hard work as unsourced or unencyclopeadic. -Roxy, the dog. barcus 14:58, 11 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi Roxy, appreciate your observations.i have added the required references to the chart, The basic difference between Fabric and Performance fabric is performance.which is enhanced in these fabrics. Don't hesitate to ask me again ThanksRajiv Sharma (talk) 17:44, 11 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
So exactly what performance do you mean? ... and enhanced from what state? -Roxy, the dog. barcus 19:25, 11 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Performance, it is about the attributes of the fabrics totally opposite in a manner to achieve added functionalities (Interestingly these added attributes enhance the scope of use of those fabrics)
enhance from what state....The added properties/performances do not belong originally to those fabrics but they are enhanced by different things see the definition. And properties of fabrics basically belongs to their origin and their polymers and polymer structure etc. But in this case, these properties are engineered to achieve added advantages.
Examples of Polyester which is hydrophobic becomes water-loving(makes it useful for sportswear) and cotton is possible to behave water repel(You must have seen types of denim claiming rain guard, stain repel )
I tried to answer everything but you are welcome any time, don't stop asking, One last thing should we improve the definition part, please advise thanksRajiv Sharma (talk) 01:57, 12 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
User:RAJIVVASUDEV, you have used a lot of words to say almost nothing. The only meaningful remark is that these fabrics purportedly make polyester hydrophilic, and cotton hydrophobic. Please address Roxy's concerns in a more direct way. Shock Brigade Harvester Boris (talk) 02:02, 12 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Shock Brigade Harvester Boris (talk)Hi let me elaborate it little more without repeating what is performance and enhancement, Performance fabrics they are purposefully manufactured to meet the conditions(sometimes extreme) with a predetermined objective. The originally owned properties of those fabrics also remain important in the whole consideration. Allow me to redefine and add some more relevant sources,Drifit from Nike is a more convincing example anyway thanks Rajiv Sharma (talk) 02:39, 12 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
I give up. Shock Brigade Harvester Boris (talk) 02:49, 12 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

(This is the extent of the re-factoring. Further comment (I hope) takes place here. -Roxy, the dog. barcus 07:29, 13 August 2018 (UTC))Reply

I have removed the table as WP:OR. None of the references support use of the label "performance fabric" in any of these cases. -Roxy, the dog. barcus 09:41, 13 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Three questions remain unanswered from the userTalk page conversation above. I will repeat them, because answers are needed in order to make sense of this article.
What is the difference between a so-called "performance Fabric" and a fabric?
So exactly what performance do you mean? ... and enhanced from what state?
In order to progress, I hope that these questions can be answered. Please bear in mind that the term "performance fabric" has not been defined at all in this article, (probably because it has no actual meaning.) I now believe that the article should not exist as it refers to a non-defined term. The article was created two years ago and the reviewer expressed these same concerns in the AfC process. Nothing has improved this in the last two years. Does anybody wish to comment? -Roxy, the dog. barcus 09:52, 13 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Roxy, the dog. barcus noted all,.I would like to try last time to protect this.Lets take it one by one.
what is the difference.....Answer: Normal fabric carries the properties from fibre's characteristics(belongs to them inherently) and in the case they may be suitable for basic needs of comfort, they are not fit for peculiar needs for certain activities and exposures. Performance fabrics purposefully made to meet those criteria.Addition of Functional properties like stretchable, absorbency ,quick drying,U.V.protected etc.
What Performance.....Answer these are the added functions, attributes(enhanced performance)enables them to perform according to the expectations or desired parameters.Example we wear nylon while swimming not cotton, additional stretch(two way and four way) made nylon more functional,Sports activities generate more sweat normal cotton will get droopy that's why polyester and Polypropylene is chosen with moisture Wicking(added function--performance enhanced)( Nike Drifit), There are some areas like NZ and Australia where the sun exposure/ U.V.light exposure is high and harmful ,clothing with U.V.protection makes the things safer(Again performance of basic fabrics is enhanced) I can provide many examples ,sources who are recognising them as Performance fabrics.
For Q-3~The definition is revised ,please comment. but I am discouraged.
That's it from my side ,now it is up-to the wiki and team keep it or delete it .Respect and ThanksRajiv Sharma (talk) 12:56, 13 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

So, is your answer "No - I have no definition of a "Performance fabric"? -Roxy, the dog. barcus 15:39, 13 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Roxy, the dog. barcus Hey dude, extremely sorry for troubling you again, but i think that the recent edits that I've made to the page should be definitive ones and hopefully would clear all your doubts regarding the validity and other issues that the page previously had. So,could you please take a final look and get back to me, otherwise all these efforts would have been in vain. Thanks Again, and i sincerely appreciate your efforts a lot!!Rajiv Sharma (talk) 17:24, 13 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

In what is a classic case of unfair bullying by a "veteran" wikipedia editor, Roxy, the dog or person whatever, who has been totally adamant in his desire to to delete this page no matter what. edit

Need wiki help for the removal of deletion tag::Copying what Mr.Roxy wrote:::Nothing has improved this in the last two years. Does anybody wish to comment?" -Roxy, the dog. barcus 09:52, 13 August 2018 (UTC)

  • Please compare if possible. The comment has absolutely no basis.Article is totally changed, from what it was two years ago, two days even. This bullying is totally unsolicited and unacceptable.
  • Each and every query was duly answered.Complying with language and wiki policies (politely) in spite of all his rude and personal comments."i will delete and i will delete", this personal obsession with deleting the page no matter what is very inappropriate, even downright creepy .Please see my last request,he did not even care to reply, inspite of me being the top contributor of the page being nominated for complete deletion, so I should atleast have some say in the process? A formal complaint against this person is due.
  • Even then he could not stop himself from tagging especially when i was editing today .Request you to check log history.is he the only one who is assigned for this article? Only on his suspicion, the tag has no validity . I put the request every where i could ask.
  • No comments received on his request... 09:52, 13 August 2018 (UTC).And article was revised with minimum 3000-4000 words but ignored.
  • This article carries vital content and happening around the globe and since last two days i am being asked what is performance(Does he expect fabrics to sing and dance?) Definitions have been totally modified and refined ,sources added, deleted, countless times and still there is no stopping to this guy.
  • The present and future of textiles is very much connected to this article if we will delete it most of the readers can miss and will find the information absent . The subject matter is very much encyclopaedic, i don't expect this person to get this, but hopefully the wiki community does.
  • I am very much agreeing with the fact that it needs improvement ,and i am trying at the level best without any support from a single user.
  • The tagging of deletion is not appreciable.Innumerable man-hours have been spent on trying to improve the page by me and i hope these efforts don't go in vain.
  • Last edits( deletes ) by him made the article incomplete and left it in poor state.

Otherwise, everything else is there in open view for everyone to decide.

Thanking you Rajiv Sharma (talk) 02:58, 16 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Refs do not support article edit

It seems I may have to do this the hard way, one ref at a time. So be it.

Could somebody please explain how the first reference in the article supports the first sentence?

First sentence reads "Performance fabrics are a segmented class of technical textiles with the specific aim of providing functional clothing[1], and thereby enhancing the "performance" of various natural and synthetic fibres"

The first ref is "MIT Innovation Initiative (June 19, 2017). "Advanced Functional Fabrics of America opens headquarters steps from MIT campus". MIT News. Retrieved 2018-08-14." currently. It makes no mention of Performance fabrics.

I shall remove this sentence in a reasonable amount of time unless rebutted. -Roxy, the dog. barcus 09:52, 15 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • Refs corrected.
  • In past also whenever it was asked,i did.even you asked to Cite the table and it was deleted

Is it really necessary to cite the table when all the contents(of table) were already cited.

  • what about your recent edits(deletes),Please make them reinstate and ask us to cite ,I am ready to add the right and better sources.

Thanks Rajiv Sharma (talk) 03:10, 16 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Dignity and respect of senior editors is at challenge edit

Henceforth lets delete this article,Roxy, the dog. barcus is taking it personal now.To maintain the respect of community the argument should be settled without the things get worst .Wikipedia is more respectful than one useless article( if a senior editor like Roxy think so) and unstoppable from deleting and deleting... Fail to understand why? I am at quora also and always praised this patrolling appreciated the interventions of senior editors but the case here is bit difficult to digest. The information of this article is precious ,and being in the profession

will not give up (can post the same elsewhere.)please delete it at least to protect Mr.Roxy's interest. Thanks and regardsRajiv Sharma (talk) 18:13, 15 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please read WP:NPA -Roxy, the dog. barcus 18:19, 15 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Note All your edits are destructive ones and you think it's perfectly okay to delete everything other editors have done all day. This is unacceptable. Rajiv Sharma (talk) 18:40, 15 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Roxy, the dog. barcus This is about your deleting skills.....For your kind information there are no fabrics without fibres. Thankstalk —Preceding undated comment added 19:21, 15 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Verifiability edit

User:Themessengerofknowledge I have reverted a number of edits per WP:BRD as the sources do not support the edits concerned. Before any attempt is made to re-instate these misplaced additions again, per wp:v please explain here which sections of those refs support your additions to the article. Thanks. -Roxy, the dog. barcus 09:03, 16 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Roxy, the dog. barcus Please do not be so desperate to delete the things testing procedures were added just 30 minutes before and you deleted.Allow me to add verified sources at-least.why so hurry? ThanksRajiv Sharma (talk) 09:27, 16 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Waiting for the editors who are watching these efficient deleting patterns. They will definitely come and save this page.I am hopeful and recording all discussions and your wrong doings.Expecting your reply on my recent edits .ThanksRajiv Sharma (talk) 09:35, 16 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
You need to learn how to indent your talk page comments. Do you see how I added a colon : at the beginning of your post above? To answer your point, I am shocked and surprised that you are making stuff up yourself and adding it to articles. Please stop doing this. -Roxy, the dog. barcus 09:38, 16 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Roxy, the dog. barcusD This is not my stuff ,this is the present and future of textiles but you are not ready to understand,Testing procedure from third party labs is available(i think they don't test non-existing things)

Testing procedures are added again and with refs ,you will not delete anything without remarking there and allowing appropriate time.

The problem is with the Name of the article not with the contents, definition and refs.I have already purposed the name Functional Clothing.Hopefully this will happen to this article. Thanks for your lessons. But you have ignored the additions in those lines.See again and come back.ThanksRajiv Sharma (talk) 10:24, 16 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Let's be civil edit

The article is under review at Articles for Deletion. While there, and after, I hope all editors can be civil toward each other. David notMD (talk) 11:04, 19 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
