Not sure where this information came from "British military forces in Kenya were made aware of the revolution at 4:45 am on 12 January, and following a request from the Sultan were put on 15 minutes' standby to conduct an assault on Zanzibar's airfield" Nor am I sure how troops in Kenya could mount an attack on Zanzibar's airfield. In fact D Company of 2nd Battalion Parachute Regiment was deployed from their base in Bahrain to Aden on standby to conduct an airborne assault on Zanzibar if required. There were no airborne troops in Kenya at that time, and as far as I know there were no marines. Ron Barker (talk) 19:04, 30 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

People's Republic of Zanzibar and PembaPeople's Republic of Zanzibar – The official government documents exclude the words "and Pemba": Union history and Union of Tanganyika and Zanzibar Act, 1964

  • Support per nom. Where did the "Pemba" come from, anyway?. It only shows up in one book from these results. —  AjaxSmack  01:24, 12 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
