sources edit

The following sources have been suggested. However, many mistake legend for fact and cite only secondary sources. There's no known record of her birth, emigration, marriage to someone other than Stout, or death. The story of her survival of a ship stranding and a Lenape attack is variously told and impossible to verify, given the absence of primary sources.

Someone who has them should be the one to add these to the ref. sec., I have read bits of several of RADM Stout's works and Richard Stout's will, but most of these need someone to actually look at them and add some of the info from them. It could be some time before I can find them. John5Russell3Finley (talk) 04:04, 17 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

the instant tag edit

This article is all my own original writing. It is my writing style and comparison to my other articles will show that to be true. Some of the cites and the suggested sources listed above had bits cut and pasted from elsewhere. The practice of cut and pasting citations is long standing and common practice here and does not as I understand it constitute offensive conduct. The tag is unjustified and I will remove it for that reason John5Russell3Finley (talk) 04:41, 17 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

This article is a stub. I think that the placing of a tag demanding inline cites is premature, and bad policy in a stub class article of this sort. The instant lists of sources are more useful because: This article is still in the developement stage. Overfinnishing a newly created article can lead to stunted growth, and demands of this sort tend to chill developement. For the moment 98% the info in this article is findable in each of the sources in the list at the bottom of the article. John5Russell3Finley (talk) 03:03, 26 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

I am really hoping some of the folks who feel the need to do "new page patrolling" here will see the fun of looking up a little info in the list of sources provided here and have a try at improving the article, maybe even adding some of those newfangled "in-line cites" ? ...John5Russell3Finley (talk) 22:36, 28 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
