Demayo or DeMayo edit

Demayo or DeMayo? Certain puplications vary... anyone? Glen Stollery (My contribs) (talk) 04:19, 5 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

His obituary states DeMayo, that's what I'm going to go with. Freikorp (talk) 12:19, 30 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sources edit

According to various sources DeMayo was calling up old friends in the sport in the last few days before his death to ask if they could loan him some money. I've heard this too and beleive it to be true, generally bodybuilding message boards might not be credible enough for Wikipedia however. Can you provide a legit source? Yeah I was thinking the same - I didn't write it but obviously I didn't delete it either. I can dig up the MuscleMag where Valentine's article was written as I believe that was the source for the original writer... I can't find it online unfortunately. Until then I'll remove that line... edit as you see fit of course :) Thanks mate Glen Stollery (My contribs) (talk) 18:48, 8 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

In the final days before his death Paul was calling friends and asking anyone he could to loan him money. He was also promising Guest Posing's for free "After he got back in shape" to those who promoted shows. I was a long time friend of Paul's who did in fact "lend" him a substantial amount of money over several months. Paul was back in Boston and I was in Florida at the time so I had no idea this money was going to support his habit. I was told that he was purchasing "Supplements" and was going to make a return to the stage, That was the reason he needed the funds. Unfortunately, we all know what happened next. All that having been said, I knew Paul in better times and we were close, Very close... and I miss his friendship tremendously. And just in case anyone doubts my friendship with Paul or the validity of this posting, I have many pics of Paul and I that can provide ample proof. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.100.88.7 (talk) 06:59, 17 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Verify credibility edit

Someone has requested we verify the credibility of the website "bodybuilding.com". Obviously it's not an established media source, however it is a leading body building website, and as this is an article about a bodybuilder I consider it to be reliable for this topic. Any objections? Freikorp (talk) 12:35, 30 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Removed verify credibility tag as per no objections. Freikorp (talk) 04:04, 23 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
It's generally not considered a WP:RS by Wikipedia standards (it's an online retailer, that posts "value added" content to help boost sales) I wouldn't use it as a source for anything that is likely to be challenged, and would definitely not cite it for any WP:BLP, other than those of it's key officials (DeLuca brothers). As a side note the bodybuilding.com URL itself is on Wikipedia's external link blacklist, which gives you an idea of the low regard that that site is held here.--Yankees76 Talk 15:32, 23 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page edit

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:
