Wikification

I've done a basic tidy up, which I think justify's the removal of the wikify tag. The article still needs to be cleaned up a little with more detail on recordings.--Michig 12:36, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

While searching for sources of information I found that this entry had largely been copied from another website. I have therefore rewritten a lot of it, with details from other sources. Different sources do, however, conflict somewhat on some of the details, so I have omitted some of the parts of the original entry that I could not verify elsewhere.--Michig 11:19, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi, you're right about the original being copied from one source, since I'm the owner of that website as well as the original author of this article :) What details do you find conflicting? Vragebugten 10:47, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

A few main areas - 1. line-ups: It was difficult to verify who played in his backing band at which points. The 'Great Alternative & Indie Discography' book is pretty good on these details but didn't match the original details in the article. Some of the descriptions of the musicians and releases was somewhat too POV for Wikipedia also. 2. Patrik's job as a waiter - sources conflicted over whether this was at the House of Commons or Mansion House. More sources said House of Commons so I put that in. 3. Buzzcocks were not a London band, so I corrected that sentence. 4. Chronology - different sources disagreed on when records were released and at what point Patrik worked as a waiter - for the release dates I used those in the aforementioned Discography book as they are generally spot on in that. Obviously if you know any of the information in the article to be incorrect, please alter it accordingly. Thanks. --Michig 18:53, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

Patrik fitzgerald (talk) 20:47, 15 January 2011 (UTC) :(talk) 20:40, 15 January 2011 (UTC) (jan 2011) as the subject of this wikipedia article i feel that i have a right to contribute in order to make this as accurate and as full a picture of the subject as possible. i think it is a good encyclopedic piece and i have tried to be impartial and just to add to its sense of being complete but concise. i have added things which have been removed notably clarifying the original cited entry that states that i played in the miser at stratford which implies a sense of success as the actual theatrical stratford has a shakespearian tradition. the stratford i played at was a small community centre in the place where i was born. this ties in with the tone of the article. i also mentioned a book and a play which were factual and were artefacts related to my career as was a double tribute cd produced from norway. i mentioned the piece printed as fact by sounds (music trade paper) that i had moved to Australia by about 1980 or 81 to show that even cited information (such as the original birthplace entry) can be wrong.

The article has been tagged as resembling an advert. Anyone care to elaborate on how this article resembles an advert?--Michig (talk) 08:15, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

As no one seems able to justify the tag - perhaps it should be removed. I think it's quite honest about his lack of success after his early years and specifies periods in lowly jobs and lack of interest in some of his gloomier material.
