you could also plait the rope, etc. much as much as sellotape could be rolled up - it's not really a feature of parafilm.

Heating edit
By putting it in the oven I found that it undergoes a degradation reaction, rather than simply melting. This is original research, but if anyone has another reference the text about autclaving could be expanded. —DIV (128.250.80.15 (talk) 04:31, 26 August 2008 (UTC))
Varieties / full name edit
Is there a distinction between Parafilm 'M' and other varieties? It looks like "Parafilm M" is the proper full name. —DIV (128.250.80.15 (talk) 05:07, 26 August 2008 (UTC))
We use parafilm to protect the end of a central venous catheter - central line. It protects the central line from moisture, dirt e.t.c. and may be able to reduce infection rate, sepsis and therefore death. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.149.170.113 (talk) 10:20, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
