Name edit

I would greatly appreciate any information on how the valley acquired its unusual name. Paradoctor (talk) 19:06, 21 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Unnecessary advertisement in photo caption edit

Hello - I'm not a frequent Wikipedia user and I don't want to mess around without proper permission, so forgive me if this is out of line, but there seems to be some kind of advertisement embedded in this article that I don't think belongs here. Clicking on the photo of Paradox Valley reveals a caption that inexplicably plugs a 1977 novel? It seems very out of place, given the novel isn't mentioned elsewhere in the article. I wanted to bring it to somebody's attention, if it's a problem at all. 2601:246:C180:CDF0:4CC8:1B6A:33D4:7DBB (talk) 03:36, 2 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

You are correct, that was an embedded spam external link, glad you noticed it. I've edited the photo description on Commons, and that seemed to take care of the problem. Netherzone (talk) 21:41, 2 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I don't think that was intentional spam; it was added by the Commons reviewer who checked the Flickr license. I'm guessing they were just using a script that automagically copies the caption from Flickr. Either way, thanks for removing it. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 21:49, 2 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the clarification and checking into this! I've struck my comment calling it spam above. Netherzone (talk) 22:22, 2 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
