Backless edit

Pretty sure the name of Panty's pistol is Backless, not Backlace. If you listen she says "bakuresu", with an "eh" sound, not "ay". Also, "backless" is a term used for women's underwear, whereas "backlace" isn't. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.76.224.26 (talk) 19:55, 8 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

For that matter, just for clarification, it can be seen in the first chapter of the manga that it is called Backless due to the use of English to introduce everything. 99.13.68.177 (talk) 17:48, 11 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

The anime's OP has the word 'Backlace' scrolling behind Panty, much like Stocking has 'Stripes' behind her. I guess we'll let time tell whether it's the manga or anime that screwed up their Engrish.Wonchop (talk) 15:02, 15 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
As closure, episode 8 sticks a large 'BACK LACE' on a screen, so there ya go.Wonchop (talk) 21:57, 19 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

The "Anime" section edit

About half of it is engrish.

Season 2? edit

Apparently last episode or the DVD/BD release included a 'to be continued in next season' image: http://forum.evageeks.org/viewtopic.php?p=409767#409767

Let's keep an eye out for RSs confirming this; hasn't hit ANN yet. --Gwern (contribs) 18:48 24 December 2010 (GMT)

Unless Gainax actually come out and confirm a second season, considering it part of the last episode's crazy gag. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wonchop (talkcontribs)
Has Gainax ever lied about a sequel season? No? Then let's call a spade a spade and take it at face value. Calling it part of the gags is itself interpretation and OR... --Gwern (contribs) 18:43 25 December 2010 (GMT)
Season 2 confirmed in a bonus song at the end of track 20 (Fallen Angel) on the OST. -- 68.116.80.17 (talk) 06:17, 28 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Indeed. We need to find a proper reference before saying anything, and I'm fairly certain there's a date in there, but I don't know Japanese and can't find anything reliable regarding it, so I don't really know for sure. Just worth saying, I guess. 99.13.68.177 (talk) 20:17, 28 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well, the hidden track is not so much a confirmation of a new season's production as it is for its supposed development and green-lighting. Apparently we'll need to wait for Hiroyuki Imaishi to confirm what will happen himself and retrieve a reliable source accordingly should it happen. Character Bios give way too much detail edit

Not to mention that there are tons of spoilers in them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.193.161.247 (talk) 00:41, 26 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

What do you mean by too much detail? The character descriptions are pretty short. As for containing spoilers, they are suppose to as they are suppose to be complete descriptions. —Farix (t | c) 01:15, 26 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Individual Character Bios for the Ghosts edit

The ghosts should each be listed sepeartly along with their voice actors. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.49.184.141 (talk) 06:21, 31 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

"parody" edit

Can you please stop adding that? The show contains parodies, but overall only a fairly small part of its humor comes from making fun of existing works; usually when it references something, it's done as a tribute as opposed to an attempt at making fun. The art style and format was chosen as a tribute to American cartoons, not as an attempt to mock them - the only exception being the Transformers episode, which was sometimes poorly animated on purpose to mimic cheap 80s animation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.99.32.190 (talkcontribs)

Could you be more specific about how much counts as parody? You've already set a lower-bound - anime must be more than 8% parody to count. But inquiring minds want to know! How do we count parodies in opening and ending animations - just once or once for each episode they are used in? Similarly for the songs and music. Does it have to be a simple majority of all content to count as parody, that is, 51% of the content be parody? Or would a simple plurality suffice, say Panty & Stocking consisted of 30% parody, 25% action, 25% raunch, and 20% miscellaneous? Are tributes a lesser kind of parody than not, kind of like slaves only counted as 3/5s a free man for the census and couldn't vote? And who is our electorate? Reviewers, presumably, but online or offline? How can we hope to poll them in any reasonable time?
What fascinating issues you have brought up! I do hope you will contribute more such problems in the future. --Gwern (contribs) 17:48 29 December 2010 (GMT)

tributes are not parodies, learn what the word means and drop the unfunny ironic fakeposts —Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.99.32.190 (talk) 19:00, 29 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Tributes aren't always parodies and parodies aren't always tributes. But they can be both at the same time buddy. Stop insulting peoples intelligence. Ever heard of Young Frankenstein? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.9.73.15 (talk) 23:43, 22 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Stuff to archive edit

What is worth archiving about that? It's a character being hit by a car and then redirecting to a website. --Gwern (contribs) 16:50 6 January 2011 (GMT)

Reception edit

Where's the reception section for this awful anime?--Austin Robinson 02:53, 17 June 2011 (UTC)User:Robinsonbecky

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt THE WORST ALBUM edit

I've added the album infobox and track listing for the second PSG album. On the album cover booklet, there were a few entries for a number of songs that I didn't know what to do with (Mixed by...; Remixed by ...; script; director; etc etc) when creating the track listing table, so I've included them as edit notes (<!--like this-->) if anyone knows what to do with them. Also, the total track listing of 1:12:43.347 (hours:mins:seconds.milliseconds) is what foobar2000 tells me; if anyone feels this is too stupidly precise, feel free to change it. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email 05:17, 21 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

"[S]imulcast on Nico Nico Douga and Crunchyroll"? edit

What does that mean? Did they live-streamed BS-NTV's feed at the same time as the TV première (the literal meaning of simulcasting)? JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 14:21, 25 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

RFC should not be used for this. DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 09:05, 4 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
Okay, sorry about that.
By the way, does anyone know how PSG really went on Crunchroll? JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 16:17, 4 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Spelling Standardisation. edit

Doesn't Wikipedia use UK English? Standardising the spelling doesn't have to have a reason other than for the sake of standardising, does it? Derpyhoi (talk) 20:25, 3 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
