Music edit

It would seem that the free Pandemonium downloads available on various abandonware sites are unable to play music once the game runs. The sound effects work fine, and the music bar in the options menu displays the music volume at full, but no music is audible. Is this due to the modern sound systems on recent computers, or does the music require the disc? It's a question that I (and many others) would like to find an answer for.

That will be one of two things: the download is a pirate "scene rip" from the time of release that omitted music to save bandwidth (games that use CD audio may take up hundreds of megabytes, even after archiving; this was not feasible for download over dial-up back in ~1996, so music would be stripped from the games; Pandemonium can be compressed to 22mb once the music is removed, for instance). Alternatively if it's a legit disc and you still can't hear anything then it's very likely to be one of the myriad issues with running older Windows games on newer versions of Windows. For audio problems try VDMSound: http://sourceforge.net/projects/vdmsound/ It emulates a prototypical sound card and does so within Windows. If that still doesn't work you could try DosBox, but that's quite a bit of hassle, frankly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.105.211.168 (talk) 15:52, 20 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

PC speed bug edit

PC version has a "speed" bug. This games runs tooooooo fast on newer PCs. Looks like the developers did not implement any framerate/speed limiter. (I played this long time ago, maybe I missed the speed limiter option hidden somewhere in configuration, or maybe there is a patch available, I don't know) --CrazyTerabyte 21:19, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Pandemonium box.jpg edit

Image:Pandemonium box.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:58, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
