ATSC centered 3MHz above Lower edge edit

Wouldn't it be 300KHz (or 310KHz specifically)? 3MHz would bump you too high. Edited.

The pilot frequencies are not correct, they are xxx,309,441 Hz., (not xxx.31 Mhz). The error is intolerable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.209.112.159 (talk) 21:05, 17 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Background colors edit

What do the background colors mean in the channel/frequency matrices?

e.g. 37 (608MHz-614MHz) has a cyan background, which doesn't seem to match any bluish color (is it the same as #44CCFF hex code?) in the other grids.

Who made those grids, what do those colors mean, and why is there no legend telling what they mean? Darr247 (talk) 13:38, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I've wondered the same thing myself, so I'm glad you asked. I just removed the color and we'll see how it goes. – voidxor (talk | contrib) 06:10, 19 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
The colors show channels that have been reallocated and are no longer used for broadcast television. The notes below the table explain the re-allocations. Bubbatex (talk) 13:24, 22 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Channel 37 (article) explains why channel 37 is not used in Canada, the United States and Mexico, reserving it for Radio Astronomy weak-signal reception. That might be why a different color was used in a frequency chart mentioned above. [1]Lytzf (talk) 03:24, 29 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
It seems the colors were added back at some point, but they seem inconsistent. Channels 69–83 were reallocated at a different point in time from 52–68, so why are those not in a different color like 38–51 are? Travis Evans (talk) 01:07, 29 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Poorly organized edit

Under the Broadcast section, the main headings are:

  • Analog channels
  • Changes and variations
  • Current band plans

The US no longer has analog TV. What is the meaning of these sections? Can we get a subject matter expert to revise this? Should here be a "digital channels" section? Does the frequency table apply to both? One would think that the change from analog to digital in 2009 would be a significant "change" but it is not mentioned in the section. To an average visitor, this article appears either obsolete or to be missing relevant information. 3dimen (talk) 16:25, 19 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I took a stab at reorganizing the article; I hope this helps. Thanks for reporting the problem! – voidxor (talk | contrib) 02:10, 23 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Broken link edit

The link to the ARRL website returns 404; I think the desired page is now at https://www.arrl.org/files/file/Technology/TV_Channels/TV_Broadcast_Frequencies.pdf

All the article needs a new title as history of television channels. Nothing is current. Externet18Jul2020 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:A000:7FC0:25:14F5:5DF0:A2EA:3BF2 (talk) 13:33, 18 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
