Personal goal to be next astronaut to set foot on Moon? edit

Where is this statement in either of the sources given for the statement: "Melroy has stated that her personal goal is to be the next astronaut to set foot on the Moon when NASA resumes manned Lunar missions." I don't see any reference to the moon, lunar mission, etc. on either source. - Ageekgal 17:28, 23 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've removed the above sentence/paragraph and moved the references to the previous paragraph, as they appear to appply to it instead of the "next Moon astronaut" statement. I would have fact-tagged the unsupported statement, but I suspect it's a misreading of a quote from a Miami Herald article:
  • "It says a lot about the first 50 years of space flight that this is where we're at," Melroy said, "and I look forward to the next 50 years including a lot of women commanders, including one going to the moon."
    • "2 Commanders Bringing NASA Closer to Gender Equality in Space". Miami Herald. RedOrbit.com. 21 October 2007. Retrieved 2007-11-04. {{cite news}}: Check date values in: |date= (help)
Note that she's not saying that she's the one she hopes will go to the Moon. (Nor is she saying isn't. It just doesn't support the claim.) If someone can find a reliable source for the Moon statement, feel free to restore it (with citation!). ~ Jeff Q (talk) 15:25, 4 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for that. I'd forgotten about this page 'til it popped up on my watchlist again. - Ageekgal 17:42, 4 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
