Sometime after May 13, 2003 I spoke with the tank crew involved in firing on the hotel. They say they saw the long lens of a camera sticking out of a balcony at the hotel. They took it as a threat and called it up to their superior officer, a major. A short while later the major got back to them and told them to fire on it. They felt bad about it but did not feel like they had broken teh rules of engagement, and hadn't been aware tehre were journalists in the hotel. they also pointed out that ina buttoned-down tank you can only see a very limited view of the outside.202.82.171.186 (talk) 03:36, 29 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
