Paisley School edit

Paisley is a cool school with a great website. Go Broncos! beat North Lake!!! This page includes a lot more information on courses offered and colleges attended: http://www.paisleyschool.com/pages/somefacts.htm Oh and this site gives the Superintendent's testimony before Congress. I cited it in the article, but haven't read it and added details. http://www.senate.gov/comm/energy/general/hearings/testimony.cfm?id=271&wit_id=597 Their website even links to Wikipedia among other "fun topics". http://www.paisleyschool.com/pages/links.htm Isn't that sweet? I guess it needs to be reworded or reworked more. If you write the article it needs sources. If you source the article it's a copyright violation. Oh well.(JoeTimko (talk) 04:16, 28 October 2008 (UTC))Reply

The problem is with the language used. In order to meet our copyright policy, which is designed to comply with US law, we have to use original language in writing articles here. That can be difficult with certain types of information, but it's essential. For example, the external site says, "Paisley School District was the first charter district in the state and has developed several innovative programs which have enhanced the educational quality for our students." The information you have recently added to the article says, "Paisley School District was the first charter district in the state of Oregon, and has developed several innovative programs which have enhanced the educational quality for our students." This is copyright infringement under the definition of US law. The only way that we can include language from external sources is if it meets non-free content criteria (which includes limitations on how much text we use) or if the material is free use (public domain, for instance, or licensed compatibly with GFDL). This was just one of many points of infringement within the text, so I have reverted to the last demonstrably clean. If you choose to restore some of this, please be sure that all material is rewritten in completely original language or, alternatively, follow the procedure at WP:Permission to verify that we may utilize text directly. Thank you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:40, 5 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
This above user has been blocked. I'll get around to expanding this article with original writing and references one of these days. Thanks for removing the copyvio. Katr67 (talk) 17:27, 5 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Charter school? edit

The OSAA profile says (charter), but I can't find anything else (like the ODE directory) to support or expand on that. Is it a contracted public school, or what? tedder (talk) 21:14, 28 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

(replying to myself) Looks like there is a boarding school, and here's the updated link from the above talk entry:
