Article's title edit

I'm the one who added the neologism template. I did it because a google search for "padanism" (or padanismo in Italian, for what it matters) returns a grand total of 1,000 results. While the argument itself might be noteworty it most definitely doesn't deserve a separate article, and should be merged in another one.--Piccolo Modificatore Laborioso (talk) 19:19, 29 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I definitely agree. The name of the correspondent (and, I presume, original) Italian article is (translated) "Padanian separatism" and the Spanish one is (translated) "Padanian nationalism" so I can't see the reason for this "Padanism neologism" here (no pun intended). Unless someone objects, I will change the article name this to "Padanian nationalism" (it has become more 'nationalist' than 'separatist' over the years). Besides, this convention matches similar ones, like "Venetian nationalism". MOUNTOLIVE fedeli alla linea 21:59, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Already moved from "Padanism" to the current "Padanian nationalism" MOUNTOLIVE fedeli alla linea 02:20, 10 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Article's title 2 edit

A few minutes ago I moved the article, which was moved by User:Enok to its previous title, Padanian nationalism.

I agree with Enok that there is no "Padanian nation", but, as an independent editor of this encyclopedia, I have to say that it is a fact that there are people who believe there is a Padanian nation and who campaign for it. We might disagree with them (and I disagree), but they exist. "Nationalism" is the term which is universally used in en.Wiki in reference to movements who proclaim the existance of a nation. Secondly, "indipendentism" is macaroni English.

As Enok did changes both to this page and Padania (and the two articles are inextricably related), I suggest we should have a joint discussion at Talk:Padania#Padania and Padanian nationalism. I hope we will have a honest and profitable conversation there. --Checco (talk) 10:02, 29 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

I suggest to compare reliable sources using each term. If there are more and more reliable sources for one of the two terms it will be for sure the title of this article. --Theirrulez (talk) 04:13, 30 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

There are basically no sources in English on "Padanian independentism" (and only a few hits on Google) or "Padanian separatism" (only a few hits on Google), while there are some scientific sources using "Padanian nationalism" (cf. 1, 2, 3,4, etc.) – and thousands of Google hits. I originally disliked the term "Padanian nationalism", but, after a long discussion at Talk:Venetian nationalism, it was decided that the "Adjective nationalism" format was the most appropriate, due to the existing precedence (see User:Coldmachine's edits at Talk:Venetian nationalism whe he mentions Andalusian nationalism, Quebec nationalism, etc.). Padanists proclaim that Padania is a nation: that's being nationalist. I wouldn't bring the issue into question again. --Checco (talk) 14:50, 1 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Explain two different images? edit

There are two images on the page with the captions: "Map of Europe, showing Padania (as claimed by Lega Padana) in dark green" and "Map of Europe, showing Padania (as claimed by Lega Nord) in dark green". Surely there should be an explanation in the article text of what territory exactly these two organisations claim as comprising Padania, and why there is a difference between them? 2001:BB6:4713:4858:F411:372E:BC19:83F4 (talk) 12:13, 31 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
