Fair use rationale for Image:Original movie poster for the film Our Town (1940 film).jpg edit

Image:Original movie poster for the film Our Town (1940 film).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Not in public domain? edit

However, because it is a derivative work from a play that is still under U.S. copyright, it is not deemed to be in the public domain[citation needed]

The fact that this film is available for download at the Internet Archive contradicts the unreferenced assertion that "it is not deemed to be in the public domain". Therefore, I am going to delete it, per WP:PROVEIT. (Frankly, I'm amazed this statement has remained in the article for ELEVEN YEARS.) If there is a reliable source out there that says it should not be in the public domain (which is different from saying it is not deemed to be in the public domain) but the copyright holder failed or is failing to enforce their copyright, then it would be appropriate to add that. —184.207.241.117 (talk) 20:24, 18 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

URL of review in Variety edit

There's a stray, bare URL of a review in Variety visible at the bottom of the page. I'm going to remove it. In case someone can find a use for that review, this is a link to that webpage. —184.207.241.117 (talk) 20:39, 18 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
