8 as a substitute edit

I haven't found any citation for using the number eight (8) glyph as a substitute, but I've been looking through numerous documents that do exactly that, and my impression is that they are not necessarily italicised, so that particular phrase in the description was removed. The Ꙋ way of writing it edit

Up to now I have only known it as Ꙋ, which is not showing up as I copied it from the article on my Android tablet, but actually it looks like the devanagari equivalent of number 4 rather than looking like an English number 8.. I would like to know more about this version which I have known from ancient Greeks texts and east Roman mosaics and frescos where it is seen, but not very often. Edit, as I am writing this in the text box I saw that it has worked in the preview below, apart from in the title Middle More Rider (talk) 00:09, 7 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
