WikitanvirBot problem edit

Hi, is there a way to stop the bot making cs:Organologie (varhany)? The right link is cs:Organologie. Thanks. --ॐ (Aum) (talk) 16:54, 24 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nonsense edit

The entire concept is pure nonsense and should not be worth a Wikipedia article, unless it's absurdity is specifically mentioned. Every instrument, just like everything else on earth, produces sound by vibrating air. Every instrument works through vibrating a material that creates air vibrations. Synthesizers do not produce sound, nor do brainwaves or other "electrophones". The attached speakers do. By vibrating solid material, just like any string or wind instrument. --2003:4C:6D45:BBB2:DD16:84DF:5F75:82A7 (talk) 22:48, 13 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

The section on elementary organology has been moved to Musical instrument classification. Hyacinth (talk) 09:36, 4 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Lists edit

It's rather odd that the list of "Prominent organologists" contains 11 entries, only 3 of which mention the word "organology"; who says these are prominent organologist? Ivor Darreg? Really? --jpgordon𝄢𝄆 𝄐𝄇 05:59, 19 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Very out-of-place/overly specific sections? edit

The sections "Outside perspectives on the Hornbostel–Sachs classification system" and "Alternative perspectives on the classification of musical instruments" are each just a paragraph long and seem out of place compared to the rest of the article - while connected to the subject, the rest of the article is an overview of organology while these are summaries of very specific perspectives held by a couple individuals on specific concepts in the field. I think they should be moved to other articles on the subjects the sections are commenting on or moved to a new singular section with subheadings for each one, and some other text tying them into the main article. Without doing that, it feels very much like the article is "here's an overview of what organology is and also this perspective two people share on the Hornbostel–Sachs classification system and then more general info about organology".
