Talk:Oregon circuit courts

I'm pretty sure the article title should be lower case: circuit courts. The individual courts (e.g. Multnomah County Circuit Court) are proper nouns, but I don't think the collective term is. Anyone else know this with more certainty? (I don't think the OJD or Blue Book pages are really a reliable source on this this point, self-referential sources are often guilty of "capital inflation.") -Pete (talk) 18:15, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think lower case is best. On the OJD site they tend to refer to it as the circuit courts, but when mentioning the tax court even without the Oregon in front they call it the Tax Court. Plus "United States court of appeals" is the correct spelling for the appeal courts, but individual court such as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals are capitalized. Wow- thanks for the quick response and lead-reworking! -Pete (talk) 18:49, 21 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yup, I'd agree that the circuit courts collectively don't merit the use of Capitals of Great Metaphorical Significance. Katr67 (talk) 04:17, 22 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
