Firenza/Skyhawk edit

While the Skyhawk may have replaced the Opel Manta in Buick dealerships, I think that calling it the Manta's successor is a bit strong, and no different than accepting the Vauxhall Firenza as it's predecessor - it sort of was, in the UK market at least.

In any case, Car B cannot really succeed Car A until Car A is taken out of production. Not only was the Manta produced until 1988, but was also sold parallel to the Skyhawk during 1975. The actual US market successor was in any case not the Buick, but rather the Opel Isuzu which went on sale as a '76, as quoted in Standard Catalog of Imported Cars (pp 472, 479). I still question the necessity of listing a successor for a car which remained in production for another 13 years; it seems rather americentric.

Awaiting further comments, I moved the Skyhawk to the Manta A infobox (since it didn't replace the Manta as a whole), but will replace it with Opel Isuzu.

Agree citing it as an overall successor is too strong. If the Buick Skyhawk is to be mentioned here, it makes most sense in the Manta A info box where it now sits. Possibly add the Opel Isuzu rather than replacing it? Splateagle (talk) 10:26, 29 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
I agree with you, but only as long as the Skyhawk can be referenced. It is called a "Manta replacement" on its own page, but there is no reference listed.  ⊂ Mr.choppers ⊃  (talk) 05:52, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
