How many cases has OBSI handeled each year since 1996? edit

I wonder if anyone knows and can add this to the article. Ottawahitech (talk) 13:19, 15 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why is OBSI located in Toronto? edit

The article says that OBSI acts with "independence, fairness and integrity" so I wonder if this question is fair: Since this is a national (not a provincial) organization - can OBSI really represent consumers against financial institutions sitting in Toronto the financial center of Canada instead of in Ottawa the capital of Canada and close to the democratic representatives of Canadians?

Seems to me that an organization based in Toronto is much more likely to be in the pockets of the large banks and investment firms, than one based in Ottawa? Ottawahitech (talk) 19:46, 16 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Just wondering if I am talking to myself? Ottawahitech (talk) 20:51, 13 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Discussion continued on previous questions edit

Hi Ottawahitech. Thanks for your input on this topic. I am new to wiki and please correct my mistake due to my inexperience in wiki. Regarding the number of cases dealt by OBSI, I cannot give you an answer at this moment. I am not working at OBSI any more :( and therefore do not have access to this info. However, we do publish a annual review in the first half of next year which have some stats on previous year.

On your next question, although we do locate in the financial district, we do not take any side in any dispute between financial consumers and financial institutions. And there is no way for large banks to intervene our investigation and manipulate our operation. OBSI is an independent entity in Canadian financial industry on guard of fairness in practice rather than any particular party, including financial service provides, consumers, government agency and industrial organizations.

Hope the information above may help you. I will try to update some other info on this topic like case numbers etc as soon as possible.

Thanks for bringing up these discussions and help. Gin&Tonix (talk) 14:55, 2 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
