should not be a dab

Looking at the incoming links, it seems pretty clear that Aliyah is the primary meaning of this term. There's no article for the Latin word, and "olim" doesn't appear anywhere in Ancien Régime in France or Parlement. I propose changing this back to a redirect. If this becomes Olim (disambiguation) and the Aliyah article gets a redirect template for "Olim redirects here, for other uses see Olim (disambiguation)". Nadiatalent (talk) 17:37, 4 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
I don't know how to format the Latin part any better than I just did, though it is less than ideal. The Latin word "olim" is important in botany (and perhaps other natural history disciplines). It tends to appear in the middle of text that is in another language and therefore is not obviously Latin. For example, "olim B" in a discussion of a botanical herbarium specimen would mean that the specimen was formerly in the Berlin herbarium (which was destroyed in the Second World War). Are there any articles which detail these usages? The purpose of disambiguation pages is to distinguish between terms which can refer to multiple articles - not Wiktionary entries - of comparable importance. Right now there's only one valid article link here. If there were a second one then, per WP:TWODABS, it would be best to have Olim point to Aliyah, and put hatnotes on both articles. Personally, I like to leave a trail that indicates how wikipedia can usefully be expanded, such as the "Parlement de Paris" entry. For want of better knowledge about more-general usage, olim is now listed at Glossary of botanical terms. Nadiatalent (talk) 20:39, 4 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
Ok, good. I've created a redirect to it at Olim (botany). I'm now going to change Olim back to a redirect and put a hatnote on Aliyah. Nick Number (talk) 21:06, 4 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
