Talk:Obusier de 155 mm Modèle 50

re: reported Syrian use of OB de 155mm BF mle. 1950 field howitzer edit

I have not seen reference to Syria having used these weapons before I read this article, where does the citation come from? Perhaps they were using captured Lebanese Army howitzers? I realize that France provided some military equipment to the Syrians during the early to mid-1950s, perhaps there were some exports of this gun to Syria during this period?SASH155 (talk) 00:54, 10 April 2012 (UTC)SASH155, W.Thomas, Alex. Obusier de 155 mm Modèle 50 sighted in Peruvian service edit

Found a recent photo on Photobucket.com while doing an image search for Peruvian artillery which shows a Peruvian army MAN 6x6 truck towing a 155mm OB de 155mm BF Mle. 1950. It is unclear when Peru took delivery of these weapons, but it seems that France (or Sweden or Israel???) sold a few (12?) surplus retired ones to them over the last several years. It would seem that France also delivered a battery or two of these howitzers to Senegal, perhaps during the 1990s. Here on Wikipedia the ORBAT listed for the modern Peruvian army says that they have 12 "SOFAM" (sic.) 155mm howitzers, which could only logically be either the 155mm Mk. F-3 SPH or the mle. 1950.
