The idea that NNTN was the first programme to be known by its initials is absurd: From the article "That was the Week that was": "That Was The Week That Was, also known as TW3, was a satirical television comedy programme that aired on BBC Television in 1962 and 1963." TW3 was also known in the USA owing to its non-satirical broadcast the day after Kennedy's assassination, but was essentially the best topical news satire programme ever (IMHO).

Also, SCTV was a satirical sketch comedy show, which aired on NBC in the early 80's, before NNTN's premiere. It was broadcast on Canadian networks Global and CBC in the late 70's before being picked up by NBC. 24.91.59.86 (talk)
