Summary information

The daily ridership line on the table lists a number, but then says annual. Is there any reason not to divide that number by 365 and put ~1900 daily?

Furthermore, considering the 8 trains a day projected currently, why not state how many riders are projected per train? This would be 700,000/365/8 = 240 passengers per train. WP:CRYSTAL

The page linked above, WP:CRYSTAL, should be kept in mind as this article is edited. There is no guarantee the service will ever begin, and consequently statements otherwise (the train "will provide", "will run", etc.) should be eliminated. Similarly, there is no reason to dwell on true high-speed rail, as that option apparently is no longer on the table, and many of the improvements necessary for high-speed trains no longer would be needed, and need not be mentioned.

Until such time as positive legislative action is taken to get this project moving (very doubtful in the new legislature) there is no reason to assume that service will ever start. Kablammo (talk) 19:02, 28 November 2016 (UTC)

-- Good points, Kablammo. Here we are 3 years later and no funding for construction is in place. Some insiders speculate it's a nonstarter with much of the support it once had from the Iron Range indifferent to the project. Next steps and construction timeline

While the article mentions that the route has finally received the state funding needed to begin construction, there is no mention of the construction timeline or when we might see this operational. In conversations with advocates, I've heard speculation of Summer 2025, but haven't been able to confirm this from any official sources. If that information can be located, it should be added to the article, as I imagine most readers are looking at this for details on when they'll be able to ride the train.
