British-American or simply American

edit

Hi Clibenfoart - First, it doesn't really bug me changing it to British-American. I simply wanted clarification. My understanding of using the national adjective is a qualifier as to where the actor (or director/producer, etc) practiced their art, not their heritage. I've seen this discussed several times, and of course, can't find one right now. The last one had to do with categories. Since she wasn't really an actor in Britain, should their be a hyphenation in this designation? Take for example the lead for Nick Stuart, there it qualifies that while he was an American actor, he was born in Austria-Hungary. Thoughts? Onel5969 TT me 12:33, 11 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

A Trick of Hearts

edit

Hi ‎Koplimek - I don't think I've ever come across something you've done which I felt needed to be reverted before. You do a yeoman's job on film stuff (maybe in other areas, but we only intersect on films). The reason I reverted is that the section is cited "as per AFI database", and it is not on her AFI filmography. Nor is she listed in the film credits on the AFI database either. I know she is on the imdb page, but imdb is not a reliable source. I'll look in some of the trade magazines and see if I can verify she was actually in the film. Regardless, I think that if we add something not in the citation given, we should annotate that citation to reflect that. Something along the lines of "as per AFI database, unless otherwise noted". Birthplace

edit

Does anyone have a source for London, England, as her birthplace (as shown in the infobox)? A Biographical Dictionary of Silent Film Western Actors and Actresses says, "Nora Cecil was born in Ireland in 1879 ...". Also, this article from The Los Angeles Times refers to her as "a fair colleen from old Erin". Eddie Blick (talk) 03:30, 17 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

I just found This article from The Los Angeles Times that says, "Nora Cecil ... was born in County Tyron, Ireland, but moved with her parents to England when a child."Eddie Blick (talk) 03:46, 17 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
