Fair use rationale for Image:NiGHTS characterart.jpg edit

Image:NiGHTS characterart.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Other Characters edit

Is there not enough available information to justify a seperate page for characters such as Reala, Wizeman, etc.? (ApostleJoe (talk) 22:15, 3 January 2008 (UTC))Reply

Not really, no, as of now there isn't much detail put into either of them, but I don't think it would hurt too much to have a page for Reala. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sega Uranus (talkcontribs) 23:40, 20 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Diamond or Jewel? edit

The red rock on Nights' chest, if I recall correctly, was never referred to as a diamond. I believe it was part of an ideya of courage... not a diamond. (ApostleJoe (talk) 15:42, 4 January 2008 (UTC))Reply

That's correct. :) It says so in the comics. Angie Y. (talk) 15:56, 5 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ah, just as I thought, then. Thanks for adding that in there. (ApostleJoe (talk) 17:27, 5 January 2008 (UTC))Reply

Concept and creation edit

This article had direct quotes from the designers of the character and they were all removed. I don't see how this section of the article is an improvement. --Pixelface (talk) 10:54, 7 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

With or without the quotes? I think that it's good for anyone trying to find out how/why the character was created. For instance, the Sonic the Hedgehog page has a similar section in its article. (ApostleJoe (talk) 14:30, 7 January 2008 (UTC))Reply

I don't see how the removal of all of the quotes was an improvement. This revision has the quotes I am talking about. I think some of the quotes could have been trimmed, but there's no valid reason to remove them all. --Pixelface (talk) 01:31, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Excuse my ignorance edit

Nights is also a playable character in the upcoming Sega Superstars Tennis.

Is citation needed for this particular statement, or no? I've seen sentences similar to it have citations, but I'm pretty new and unsure. (ApostleJoe (talk) 14:32, 7 January 2008 (UTC))Reply

Nevermind, its on the Sega Superstars Tennis page. Once again, please excuse my ignorance. (ApostleJoe (talk) 14:35, 7 January 2008 (UTC))Reply

NiGHTS vs. Nights edit

The correct spelling of the character is NiGHTS, I've noticed that the whole of Wikipedia seems to be ignorant of this fact, and the characters name, as well as the title of the games are all written wrongly...  Doktor  Wilhelm  20:07, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

No it should not, because NiGHTS goes againts the WP:MOSTM. (ApostleJoe (talk) 01:52, 9 January 2008 (UTC))Reply

On the contrary; NiGHTS is just camelcasing... extreme camelcasing.
Trademarks in CamelCase are a judgment call. CamelCase may be used where it reflects general usage and makes the trademark more readable
The general usage is NiGHTS. Enough said. -- Stormwatch (talk) 17:30, 2 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Good for you. BUT MAKE A NOTE OF IT IN THE ARTICLE, IT'S NOT THAT HARD. 208.101.143.88 (talk) 10:20, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Attitude check. I'll add it if it hasn't been already. (ApostleJoe (talk) 19:42, 16 January 2008 (UTC))Reply

EDIT: There's already a mention of the correct spelling. (ApostleJoe (talk) 19:46, 16 January 2008 (UTC))Reply

Actually, through thorough searching, I saw no mention of NiGHTS' true spelling. So, I added one in the introduction paragraph. I hope that's alright. SuperSonic (talk) 20:37, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

No problem there. The article for both games do the same thing. --70.24.178.134 (talk) 23:09, 3 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Voice actor edit

Who's Night's Voice actor/actress in both japan and the us?Pikazilla (talk) 13:30, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'll try to find out. (ApostleJoe (talk) 19:46, 16 January 2008 (UTC))Reply

I just found out. It's Julissa Aquirre in JoD.Angie Y. (talk) 20:05, 16 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, Angie. :) Can you give me the website that? Or did you look in the credits for the game? I'll add it in. (ApostleJoe (talk) 00:26, 18 January 2008 (UTC))Reply

I will give you the website. :) [1] Angie Y. (talk) 04:24, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Gender edit

Is Nights male or femile? Nights seams like a girl to me.--Samurai Cerberus (talk) 18:20, 14 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Nights is androgynous-- meaning "he" has no official gender. (ApJ (talk) 04:10, 15 February 2008 (UTC))Reply

In the Japanese Version, how does Nights adress him/herself? Does he use Boku, Ore, Watashi, that could be a clue. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.125.170.89 (talk) 13:03, 28 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

No it wouldn't. There's at least one interview (found here http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2007/12/interview_takashi_iizuka_talks_nights) where it's outright said that "NiGHTS is neutral, and therefore has no gender. The impressions of the character with regards to gender are totally up to the player." So NiGHTS doesn't have an official gender.90.230.68.192(talk)11:52, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Live action edit

Um, when exactly did this actor Hynden wilch play a live-action NiGHTS?-24.68.249.177 (talk) 15:30, 7 July 2008 (UTC)User:BonescrusherReply

Japanese voice actor edit

Journey of Dreams was never dubbed into Japanese and the first game never listed any voice actors, so is there a source of Yukari Tamura being NiGHTS' voice actor?90.230.68.192 (talk)11:52, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Does this page really need to exist? edit

Don't get me wrong, I like NiGHTS as much as the next fangirl, but I don't think he deserves his own page. He's only been a major star in 2 games so far, neither of which are all that popular or well-known in the real world. And none of his cameos are siginfcant enough either (all of them are in Sonic Team games, not in anything important in pop culture, like a blockbuster movie). If anyone disagrees with me I'll nominate this page for deletion. SailorSonic
