It looks like a pretty straight rendition of biographical facts to me--I don't see anything that points to bias or lack of neutrality. Could we have a discussion of any specific points that need fixing or should the neutrality flag be removed? --Marlow4 20:27, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

• What the proper terminology here? I doubt "pretender" is correct, since there seems to be little doubt about his claim. The title is defunct, but Nikola would be a legitamate claimant if the throne still existed. Kerowyn 18:32, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

• The term pretender is used for anyone claiming a throne that no longer exists. Alexander, Crown Prince of Yugoslavia is a pretender, and he is a legitimate claimant. The term means no disrespect. Prsgoddess187 19:23, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

The Official Website of the Royal House of Montenegro does not work so I removed it.

Crown Prince of Montenegro?

This is quite wrong. The title and style used by Nikola II is His Royal Highness CROWN PRINCE NIKOLA Titular King Nikola II as per the website http://www.orderofdanilo.org/en/family/nikola.htm . This title and style was recognised by the President of Montenegro (the Head of State) as can be seen here: http://www.orderofdanilo.org/en/news/presidentletter1.htm . Betrayel

At the end of the war - in an act of breathtaking betrayal - their former ally Serbia annexed and abolished Montenegro and deposed the Petrović Njegoš Dynasty.

Yes, so breathtaking it was one of the greatest scandals of the WWI. Never before has an ally occupied and annexed another ally in the war. Especially since Montenegro declared an almost hopeless war to Austria-Hungary in order to help Serbia. Which it did. The support of the "majority" was so overwhelming, that Montengrin rose up in rebellion against the occupying serbian troops. See the article on Christmas Uprising. Anyway, the 2006 liberation and independence of Montenegro showed what the nation thinks of this event as well. As for it being "expected and planned for years", I agree. There's a name for that sort of behaviour, and it isn't nice.

You forget that Montenegro was supposed to join Serbia. Montenegrins didn't raise a rebellion - Italy instigated an unrest that had only one battle, in which no Serbian fought (unlike many today like to point out, calling it an uprising or even a war). Serbia did not occupied and annexed Montenegro. Some Montenegrins rose in the rebellion - not all. The 2006 referendum was unconstitutional, held in undemocratic conditions, and even then had to be forged to succeed. Nikola 10:35, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Sources and NPOV

There is only one significant source for this article, "njegoskij.org". That site appears to be highly biased in favor of the subject. It's "about us" page says that it is operated by one unnamed family, perhaps the family of the subject.[1] Wikipedia articles are not intended to simply regurgitate material found on single website. We could simply point readers to that website rather than reposting the info here. Wikipedia articles should include all significant points of view, and it's evident that this one does not. I'm going to tag this as being in violation of NPOV. If more points of view cannot be found then it should be stubbed, that is cut down to a paragraph or so.   Will Beback  talk  23:56, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

Major issues

This page has some serious issues. I have added a flag for WP:NPOV among other things, huge sections of it are completely unreferenced. It seems to be a self-promotional page maintained for the 'Crown Prince.' This is an issue across any page relating to the 'Royal House' of Montenegro. Ortolan57 (talk) 10:27, 15 March 2021 (UTC)

I agree, this article's credibility is questionable since the information appears biased. I tried to find neutral sources, but they were largely in Montenegrin or French, both of which I cannot speak. I'm hopeful this article will be improved, however. R. J.
