Talk:Newport and Shermans Valley Railroad

Proper name edit

There seems to be some ambiguity. The act incorporating the company in 1873 is entitled "To incorporate the Newport and Shermans' Valley Narrow Gauge Railroad Company", but the text reads "...by the name, style and title of the Newport and Sherman Valley Narrow Gauge Railroad Company." [1] Annual reports to the Commonwealth seem to indifferently use "Sherman", "Sherman's", or "Shermans" depending on the year. Outside of the original charter, the "Narrow Gauge" never seems to have been used in the name. Choess (talk) 03:23, 9 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
