Newly refurbished article

Hopefully it is to everybody's liking. And hopefully the article may be reassessed. The new article reflects the school much better with its emblem, the Houses, and some encyclopedic detail. Ffgamera (talk) 09:07, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

The article is greatly expanded and improved compared to its state at the beginning of the month, but it is still mostly unsourced. Apart from the first and last paragraphs, there are no sources. In the first paragraph, the school colours are referenced only by a link to a photograph. A photograph doesn't actually prove very much, and since the colours were previously stated to include red, and the photo shows clear red stripes, it doesn't establish that the current statement on school colours is more accurate than the previous one.

For examples of very well developed New Zealand school articles, see Auckland Grammar School and St Peter's College, Auckland. On my talk page, Ffgamera says that they have checked the school magazine and year book as information for the article, but these sources are not used as references. They may not be ideal references, because they are not independent of the school, and they are not easy for people who are not directly connected with the school to verify as they are not online, but they would serve as adequate references for non-controversial statements and should be added to the article.

I would also like to see a History section added to the article. See for example Taradale High School, a school which has existed for about the same amount of time as Newlands, where I added a rather modest history section yesterday, despite having no knowledge of the school.-gadfium 08:44, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

I actually don't know very much on the history. I also considered putting an Alumni section, but I don't know anyone famous or notable from Newlands, nor can I find any. I've looked around on the internet etc. Oh and I realise now that the school colours do include red. Because the P.E. uniform is red and blue. Ffgamera (talk) 08:49, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Productions into a table

There is a list of major productions in the Arts section. I think the productions are a key part of Newlands college. Perhaps a separate section could be created, also containing a table? Listing all the major productions could be a pain.

Also, what defines a production as major? There is a physical board in the school hall foyer which displays major productions. Jayden Silvernz (talk) 06:22, 29 November 2019 (UTC)
